In the Finale of the musical The Ants, the lonely Central Computer SHE mourns the death of programmers Helmut, Hermann and Johannes: the only citizens of her cyber state who could ever understand her. SHE tells the crowd to celebrate the lives of the three, then realizes her mistake and concludes by admonishing them: "You don't understand anything, neither tears, nor love, nor despair, nor feeling...obedience is all you can think. Go to work!"

SHE
(Singing from atop her platform in front of the SHE temple in a long gown, the affect is that of a tragic Baroque heroine.)
I'm left alone, a programmed goddess
And you are gone Helmut, Herman, Johannes.
My program is on, goes on and on But as I now feel, I feel very alone.
(Singing directly to the people below.)
Don't stare at me; they are dead and I cry! They died cheerfully,--and I, I cannot die!
I shall give you orders; we stay in the routine.
As the music becomes more rhythmically active, everyone begins to dance as they go back to work.
Life goes on and will be as it always has been.
You eat, you drink, you work, you die.
Others replace you,--you don't consider why. Possible changes with the three friends are gone And I am alone and go on and on and on!
(spoken) Don't stare at me; you don't understand anything, neither tears, nor love, nor despair, nor feeling... ...obedience is all you can think.
Go to work!
(A frenzy of automatic dancing among all. Colored lights shoot from SHE on her raised platform.)
