about

I composed this set of Five Pieces for Guitar on a remote island in the Adriatic Sea. Each one has it's own character. Two Tone is rock influenced with a nagging play between two tones: a minor and major third. At Peace, that place that we all need to find from time to time, speaks for itself. Special Agent Q is a humorous jibe at those nutty conspiracy theorists and their imaginary pizza parlor pedophiles. Remorse is a stylistic homage to Chick Corea's Children Songs. Things You Are Liable to Read in The Bible is a theme and variations on Gershwin's song It Ain't Necessarily So. Gershwin’s lyric suggests that we avoid reading The Bible or any other great work too literally.

This collection of five originals pieces for solo guitar makes an effective set suite for performance.

I dedicate Five Pieces for Guitar to my great teacher and friend, Robert Paul Sullivan.
